Latest: 488 children made homeless in one month 'unacceptable'
Campaigners have said today that the Housing Minister does not have a plan to deal with the homeless crisis.
New figures yesterday revealed that almost 10,000 people were living in emergency accommodation last month.
Some 3,755 children now face spending the Easter holidays in emergency accommodation.
CEO of Inner City Helping Homeless Anthony Flynn wants people to say "enough is enough".
"I think what we're looking at at the moment is a social acceptance of the homeless crisis and I think that's unacceptable in my eyes," he said.
"I think [it's a case of] if it's not affecting you, it's not an issue and what we need is public outcry in regards to this issue, and we need the public to respond to what's going on on the ground at the moment.
"488 children being made homeless in one month is totally unacceptable, and the public need to respond to that."
Earlier today, the government said that a lack of supply of housing is still the driving factor in the homelessness crisis.

Housing Minister, Eoghan Murphy has been asked how many more people need to become homeless for him to resign.
Almost 10,000 people were living in emergency accommodation last month according to the latest figures.
The Government says a lack of supply of housing is still the driving factor in the homelessness crisis.

He said: "This was your plan Tánaiste, this is on you along with Minister Murphy, are you not embarrassed Tánaiste, are you not ashamed?
What level of child homelessness do we need to reach before Minister Murphy's position becomes untenable.
