Kenny in Brussels for EU budget summit

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny is in Brussels for the second of a two day Summit as leaders try to hammer out an agreement on the seven-year EU budget.

Negotiations started last night, hours later than planned amid deep divisions over spending priorities for the next seven years.

The Brussels summit chair, Herman Van Rompuy, has urged leaders to compromise and keep the EU budget focused on growth, innovation and creating jobs.

The two-day summit aims to reach a deal that eluded the leaders last November.
