Junior Infants are getting stressed about their homework

Junior infants are getting stressed out with their homework.

A new survey by the National Parents council shows that 58% of young people in infant classes are finding after school work difficult.

Parents who took part in the study reported that homework caused stress for both children and themselves.

CEO of the National Parents Council Aine Lynch, has said home learning needs to be improved; “I think what we need to do is nt have a knee jerk reaction to it but actually look at it within our education system.

“Huge amount of time, effort and resources are put into developing a curriculum for the classroom and yet we are not looking at the home learning environment that research is telling us is actually more critical for children.”
