Jobs boost for Longford and Galway

115 news jobs are being created at Green Isle Foods in Longford and Galway.

The new posts, which will come on stream over the next five years, are part of a €30m investment in the frozen food company's operations in Ireland.

50 of the jobs will be created at Green Isle's pizza production facility in Longford while 65 will come on stream at its pastry production plant in Portumna.

The investment programme, supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland, was approved by Cabinet this morning.

It also secures the jobs of 700 people who currently work at Green Isle Foods.
