More than 450 people are waiting on a bed at hospitals across the country this lunchtime.

More than 450 people are waiting on a bed at hospitals across the country this lunchtime.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 371 people are on trolleys while a further 82 are in overflow areas of wards.

According to the latest trolley watch report, there are 54 people in need of a bed at University Hospital Limerick.

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda is next with 41 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.
