Irish Hospice Foundation calls for more funding

The Irish Hospice Foundation has called for more funding to help it care for the recently bereaved and the terminally ill.

The Irish Hospice Foundation has called for more funding to help it care for the recently bereaved and the terminally ill.

Launching its first bereavement centre, the foundation said 29,000 deaths were recorded last year, leaving 10 times that number grieving.

The foundation said its estimates put the death rate among bereaved people at seven times that of the general population.
