Irish gangs cash in on cannabis factories

It is claimed cannabis factories are capable of producing around €100m worth of the drug every year.

That's according to figures from the Garda National Drugs Unit in the Irish Examiner this morning.

The number of growhouses more than doubled between 2011 and September last year.

Also, despite the number of seizures, it is believed the boom in trade is netting massive profits for Irish and foreign criminal gangs.
