Irish boy, 5, dies after quad bike accident in Portugal

The Department of Foreign Affairs has said they have not received any request for assistance from the family of a young Irish boy killed in Portugal.

Media reports this evening claim that a 5 year old boy lost his life in a quad bike accident 200km North of Lisbon on Friday night.

A six-year-old Portuguese boy was also killed in the incident and the Irish child’s seven-year-old brother is in intensive care.

Local media sources added the children were passengers on a quad bike driven by an English man in his early 50s.
