250 new jobs have been announced in Ireland by Indian firm Infosys.

The company is a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services.

The positions will be created over the next three years.

The Indian-owned consulting and technology firm's expansion will see them create up to 95 posts at its first dedicated research and development centre outside India.

They will then open a second Irish facility for 155 people who will provide IT services to Infosys clients.

Infosys already employ 250 people in Ireland.

The project has been supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.
