The Indian diaspora in Ireland are celebrating Diwali in style this weekend, with a special function taking place at the Mansion House in Dublin this evening.

The Indian diaspora in Ireland are celebrating Diwali in style this weekend, with a special function taking place at the Mansion House in Dublin this evening.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Oisin Quinn, will be among the dignitaries, community and business leaders at the event organised by the Ireland-India council.

"It is the eve of the festival of light, " explained Director of the Ireland - India council, Prashant Shukla.

"This signifies vicotry for good over evil … light over darkness."
