IFA: Local authorities failing to tackle illegal dumping

The deputy president of the Irish Farmers Association Tim O’Leary is accusing local authorities across Ireland of failing to implement litter laws to stop illegal dumping.

O’Leary said some people are using the countryside as 'a tip' by abandoning their rubbish in farmland areas.

He added the current legislation needs to be enforced in order to stop littering.

Tim O’Leary believes it is farmers who are been penalised.
