Hundreds of people have been visiting the family home of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe today to pay their respects.
The 41-year-old father of two was shot dead last Friday night during a robbery while on escort duty.
The President and the Taoiseach will be among those attending Adrian Donohoe's State funeral in Dundalk tomorrow.
Since midday people have been queuing outside Mr Donohoe's home in the village of Lordship, to offer their sympathies to his wife Caroline, six year old daughter Amy, seven year old son Niall and members of his wider family.
The Detective Garda's remains will be lying in repose until 6pm this evening.
The house is located just a few miles from where he was shot dead outside Lordship Credit Union on Friday night.
The road passing the scene has reopened this afternoon as the investigation to find the five men involved in the armed robbery continues.
