HSE to show terms of abortion-case review to woman's representatives before publication
The HSE has said the terms of reference for its report into the case of a suicidal woman who was refused an abortion will be released after they have been shared with representatives of the woman.
It is not expected the terms will be released today, to allow the woman's representatives time to consider them.
The young woman, who is not Irish, said she was pregnant after she was raped before coming to Ireland and asked for a termination at eight weeks.
She later had her baby delivered by C-section around 25 weeks, when it was decided her pregnancy was too far advanced for an abortion.
The baby remains in intensive care in hospital and the woman is receiving psychiatric care in the community.
The case has sparked protests both at home and abroad, with thousands of demonstrators calling for the abortion legislation to be changed.
Pro-Life groups will hold a vigil outside the Dáil later.
Legal consultant for the campaign Caroline Simons said: "We're asking as many people as possible to come to express our solidarity for the mother who is at the centre of this abortion controversy, and for her baby.
"We also want to highlight how the tragedy that occurred is being manipulated in order to expand our abortion law."
