HSE to review Dublin emergency departments

The HSE is to conduct a review of emergency departments in Dublin.

It is part of a national review, but it could lead to the closure or merger of some A&E departments around the city.

The Sunday Business Post has reported that the HSE is also beginning to examine variations in death rates in a number of hospitals, following a report on the matter last week.

Currently in Dublin, there are six emergency departments for adults and three paediatric departments.
