Hot weather forces Coastguard into more rescues

The Coastguard has been called to more than 25 rescues during recent days of good weather.

It has issued a warning about people using unsuitable inflatables on the water that can be blown out to sea, and added there has been an increase in the use of cheap dinghies with small outboard engines.

The Coastguard noted any of the incidents, which included people being isolated by the tide, could have resulted in disaster or death.

Their teams will continue to patrol coastlines over the weekend.
