More than 400 people are on trolleys at hospitals around the country this morning.

More than 400 people are on trolleys at hospitals around the country this morning.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, Dublin's Beaumont Hospital is the most overcrowded with 34 people in need of a bed.

The nursing union says University Hospital Limerick is next with 30 and Cork University Hospital has 29 people on hospital chairs and trolleys today.

The next highest is University Hospital Galway with 28 waiting for a hospital bed while University Hospital Waterford has 24.
