There are 501 patients waiting for beds in hospitals around the country this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.
Up to 386 are waiting in emergency departments, while 115 are in overflow wards elsewhere in the hospitals.
The worst-hit hospital today University Hospital Limerick with 55 people waiting to be admitted, while Cork University Hospital has 53 and University Hospital Galway has 38 people awaiting beds.
It comes after the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation suspended the nurses' strike action on Monday night.
The INMO's strike committee is meeting this afternoon to discuss the recommendations issued by the Labour Court.
