Hospital reports busiest year for kidney transplants

Temple Street Children's hospital in Dublin has reported its busiest year ever for kidney transplants.

Temple Street Children's hospital in Dublin has reported its busiest year ever for kidney transplants.

Sixteen children received transplants, which is the biggest number in the nine years since the unit was set up.

Of those 16 transplants, seven children received their new kidney from a living donor.

People are being urged to consider organ donation in order to change a life by collecting a donor card at their local pharmacy or indicating on the back of their driving licence.
