High-quality fake €20 notes circulating in six counties
Retailers and consumers are being warned to be on the lookout for fake €20 notes.
Gardaí are advising that high-quality forgeries of €20 notes have been making their way onto the market in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Waterford, Tipperary and Kildare.
It is believed that forgers are using major events and festivals to pass the notes.
Retailers are being urged to check notes that they are handed, in the same way they ensure €50 notes are genuine.
