Four Irish siblings who were arrested by the Egyptian military earlier this month - are expected to come before a prosecutor in Egypt today.

Four Irish siblings who were arrested by the Egyptian military earlier this month - are expected to come before a prosecutor in Egypt today.

The three sisters and their brother from Dublin were detained while taking part in a protest in Cairo - calling for the ousted Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi to be reinstated.

The four are being investigated for charges including attempted murder, possessing firearms and belonging to a militant group.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is assisting the Halawa's - who are due to appear before the prosecutor in Cairo later today.
