The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has confimed is investigating an incident in which a woman was hit by a patrol car in Dublin.

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has confimed is investigating an incident in which a woman was hit by a patrol car in Dublin.

The pedestrian was struck by a garda car on the Fonthill Road in Clondalkin at 11.20am.

The woman, who is in her 70s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital where she is being treated for injuries which are described as serious.

Update: This srticle originally stated that the woman who was hit by the patrol car was in her 40s. This has been revised in light of new information.
