The nationwide events were organised by the Campaign Against Household and Water Tax (CAHWT) group.

According to the CAHWT, 1,000 protested in Wexford, 800 in Cork, 400 in Limerick, 300 in Galway, 300 in Carlow, 200 in Kilkenny and 200 in Wicklow, while thousands took part in a series of protests in Dublin city and suburbs.
