Police in Greece have arrested a 52-year-old Greek man over the death of his Irish partner.

Police in Greece have arrested a 52-year-old Greek man over the death of his Irish partner.

The man is alleged to have killed the 48-year-old woman, who is believed to be from Northern Ireland originally, at their apartment in Athens.

The Department of Foreign affairs has confirmed that it is providing consular assistance to the woman's family.
