The Government will today publish the report which forced Alan Shatter to resign as Minister for Justice.
The 300-page Guerin document will outline how the Garda Ombudsman, Department of Justice and Minister for Justice failed to investigate allegations of Garda misconduct.
A dossier of allegations of gardaí failing to properly investigate a series of crimes was given by garda sergeant Maurice McCabe to Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin.
Mr Martin passed the dossier to the Taoiseach, who asked senior counsel Seán Guerin to investigate the claims.
Mr Guerin's 300-page report was delivered to the Taoiseach on Tuesday night . On Wednesday, three chapters of it were enough to force Alan Shatter's resignation.
The report deals with a series of of allegations including the handling of an offender who was on bail when he murdered Slyvia Roche Kelly.
The report has been redacted to remove some names and information around court cases
The Government is expected to set up a full independent Commission of Inquiry into how the claims were handled.
