Govt to announce €6.9m for 62 research projects

More than €6.9m is being allocated to 62 research projects, including the development of new drugs for cancer treatment.

More than €6.9m is being allocated to 62 research projects, including the development of new drugs for cancer treatment.

Minister for Research and Innovation, Seán Sherlock, will today announce Government funding for the projects through Science Foundation Ireland.

It is expected the funding will allow the development of early discoveries and inventions with commercial potential.

Director General of Science Foundation Ireland, Professor Mark Ferguson, said the projects will have an impact on many areas of people's lives.
