The Government has announced record levels of funding for local authorities around the country next year.

The Government has announced record levels of funding for local authorities around the country next year.

The various councils will share almost €950m in general-purpose grants, an increase of 8% over the figure for this year.

The councils are also expected to be allocated almost €600m for spending on non-national roads next month.
