Govt announces 47 new cycle routes among €32m transport projects

Forty-seven new cycle routes have been announced as part of sustainable transport projects in the Greater Dublin area.

In all, almost 200 projects have been announced, including the Rosie Hackett Bridge for public transport over the Liffey; removing the ‘pinch point’ at the Cat & Cage on the Drumcondra Road to make room for new bus lanes; and a new pedestrian and cycle bridge at Dodder Valley in Tallaght.

Up to €32.5m has been set aside for the schemes in the four Dublin local authorities and in Kildare, Meath and Wicklow.
