Gormley to move ahead with ban on traditional light bulbs

The Government is to move ahead with plans to ban traditional light bulbs.

The Government is to move ahead with plans to ban traditional light bulbs.

Minister for the Enviroment John Gormley said today that the plan has the full support of the European Commission.

It was thought the Minister's plans were in trouble because of a lack of EU support.

A public consultation will take place over the coming months to look at any concerns people have about moving towards full use of CFL bulbs.
