A new section of the Dublin to Wexford road is due to open to motorists today, four months ahead of schedule.

The new bypass on the N11 is expected to remove around 10,000 vehicles from the streets of Gorey every day.

The town has seen some of the worst traffic congestion in the country in recent years.

Work on the entire project is due to be finished in September.
