Gerry Adams suggests support for minority Government

The Sinn Féin leader has suggested his party could support a minority Government led by either Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil.

But Gerry Adams has said he would have to 'wait and see' what proposals were put on the table by either party.

Talks are continuing today between various parties in an effort to build a Government before the Dáil meets on Thursday.

This lunchtime Gerry Adams would not rule out considering a minority Government if it promised to deal with certain issues: “It’s clear that Fine Gael say that water charges won’t go, and Fianna Fáil are simply saying we will get rid of them for a wee while.

“All the other issues which are deeply deeply upsetting for people we haven’t heard anything from the other parties on those issues.”
