Gardaí treating death of elderly man as suspicious

Gardaí in Cork confirmed this afternoon that they are treating as suspicious the death of an elderly man whose body was discovered in a house on the northside of the city at lunchtime today.

Gardaí in Cork confirmed this afternoon that they are treating as suspicious the death of an elderly man whose body was discovered in a house on the northside of the city at lunchtime today.

The 74-year-old was living alone in a terraced two-story house in Gurranabraher.

His body was discovered at the back of the house at lunchtime today.

The scene was sealed off and the body left at the scene, pending a technical examination.

The State Pathologist was also notified.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Gardaí at Gurranabraher.
