Gardaí in Dublin have seized almost €1m worth of heroin as part of an intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs.

Gardaí in Dublin have seized almost €1m worth of heroin as part of an intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs.

Two men, aged 33 and 46, were arrested in connection with the seizure shortly before 12pm in Newcastle, Co Dublin.

During the operation six kilos of heroin with an estimated street value of €900,000 were seized.

The drugs are believed to be connected to an organised crime gang in the Clondalkin/Ballyfermot area.
