Around €2.5m worth of cannabis has been seized by Gardaí in Dublin.

Some 98 kilos of the drug was discovered by officers when they carried out planned searches at a number of houses on Tonlegee Road, in Coolock yesterday.

A further 21 kilos was seized during a follow-up search of car.

A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the incident. He can be held for up to seven days.
