A man is being questioned by gardaí in Cork city following a drive-by shooting last night.

A man is being questioned by gardaí in Cork city following a drive-by shooting last night.

A gunman on a motorbike fired several shots at a man in his 20s at Hollyhill shortly before 9pm.

The victim was treated at the Mercy Hospital for injuries to his arm.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested a short time later and is being held at Gurranabraher garda station.

Gardaí arrested another two men and seized a quantity of heroin in the course of a number of follow-up searches after the shooting.

One was taken to the Bridewell station in the city for questioning, while another is being held in Mayfield.
