A man in his 50's is still being questioned by Gardaí after a massive bomb was discovered in Lucan in Dublin on Saturday night.

A man in his 50's is still being questioned by Gardaí after a massive bomb was discovered in Lucan in Dublin on Saturday night.

The 50lbs explosive device was discovered in the car park of Finnstown Country House Hotel in Lucan at around 9pm.

The hotel was evacuated for around five hours as the Army bomb squad dealt with the situation.

It is understood the device was made safe without the need for a controlled explosion.

It has now been removed for further testing.

A garda forensic examination of the scene has also taken place.
