Gardaí in Co Kildare are investigating the alleged false imprisonment and assault of two women in Newbridge.

Gardaí probe women's alleged imprisonment and assault in Kildare

Gardaí in Co Kildare are investigating the alleged false imprisonment and assault of two women in Newbridge.

It is understood the incident happened at Francis Lane in the town some time between 9pm on Thursday night and 2pm on Friday afternoon.

The women - who are 19 and 21 - received non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.

They received a lift from Newbridge to Tallaght Hospital on Friday afternoon, after the alleged incidents, from a man driving an orange car.

The scene was preserved and technically examined.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
