Gardaí in Dundalk are investigating a serious assault on a man in his 60s in a public house last Friday.

Gardaí in Dundalk are investigating a serious assault on a man in his 60s in a public house last Friday.

The man received serious head injuries following the assault at a bar on Castletown Road in the town between 9pm and 10.30pm on Friday.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where his injuries are described as serious.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Castletown Road area between 8.30pm and midnight on Friday, February 28, or who may have information, to contact Dundalk garda station.
