Gardaí in Tipperary are appealing for witnesses to a road incident in which a child was knocked down.

Gardaí in Tipperary are appealing for witnesses to a road incident in which a child was knocked down.

It happened around 12.10 this afternoon on the Slievenamon Road in Thurles.

An 8-year-old boy, who was on a bicycle, was knocked down by a car.

He sustained minor injuries and has been taken to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel.

Thurles Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident to contact them on (0504) 25100.
