Gardaí investigating the murder of Andrew Allen in Co Donegal on Sunday have arrested a man.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Andrew Allen in Co Donegal on Sunday have arrested a man.

The man in his 40s was arrested this morning and is being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Buncrana Garda Station.

A silver Vauxhall Cavalier car, registration number SJI 2117, was found burned out shortly after the shooting around Ballybone, Fahan.

Gardaí are anxious to trace the movements of this car before and after the shooting along the Buncrana to Derry road.

They said that there may also have been a second car in the Ballybone area around the time of the shooting.
