Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to an alleged serious sexual assault on Sunday night.

A woman is alleged to have been sexually assaulted in a laneway beside a convenience shop across from St Peters Church at Cabra Park, Phibsboro between 7.15pm and 8.45pm last Sunday.

Three men are believed to have been involved, and the main culprit is described as being 5’9”, skinny build, shaved blonde hair with a light facial stubble.

He is also described as having a scar on his face, and was wearing grey cotton trousers with a white stripe down the side, a grey jumper with a hood and black runners.

The second man was 6’, with a thin face and dark eyes and he was wearing a dark grey sweatshirt with a hood. Gardaí say he has what is described as a distinctive scar on his left hand.

No description is available for the third man.

Investigating officers at Mountjoy are particularly anxious to speak to a man who may have met these men in the laneway following the alleged incident.

They are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information to contact them at the Incident room at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01- 666 8666 , the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
