Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Ciara Breen are today conducting a search of lands in the Dundalk area.

Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Ciara Breen are today conducting a search of lands in the Dundalk area.

Superintendent Gerry Curley is to brief the media at Dundalk Garda Station at 2pm today.

Ciara Breen was 17 years old when she was reported missing.

She was last seen at her home at Bachelors Walk, Dundalk in the early hours of Thursday, February 13, 1997.

Last year, Gardaí received a number of anonymous letters and reports of new information on her disappearance.

A man who was known to Ciara Breen was arrested in April of this year, but was later released without charge.
