A teenager has been shot in Dublin this afternoon.

It has been reported that the 18-year-old man is being treated in St James’s Hospital for his injuries. He is said to be in a critical condition.

Gardaí have said the shooting occurred at the Memorial Park, Dublin 8, at around 3pm this afternoon.

Gardai are appeal for witnesses that may have seen anything unusual or suspicious near the footbridge on the Con Colbert Road side of Memorial Park at that time to contact Kilmainham Garda Station on 01-6669700, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
