Gardaí investigate possible sighting of missing Tipperary man

Gardaí are investigating a possible sighting of a man missing in Tipperary since last weekend.

61-year-old James O'Dwyer was last seen around 7am on Sunday morning when he left the farm where he worked near Mullinahone.

A major search operation involving Gardaí, the Civil Defence and local people has been ongoing since.

A 200-acre wood, a sandpit and the local river have all been searched.

Superintendent John Courtney told Tipp FM of the latest development: "A sighting was made of a man at Dunnes Stores shopping centre in Thurles at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

"This person appears to answer the description of James.

"However, we are conducting intensive investigations in the Thurles area to establish whether or not it was James who was seen."
