Gardaí investigate fraud allegations at Dublin credit union

Gardaí are investigating suspected fraud at a credit union in Dublin.

It is thought that up to €400,000 could be involved.

This alleged fraud centres on the Larkhill and District Credit Union in Whitehall and is suspected to have happened between 2002 and 2013.

It is believed the credit union has had to refund thousands of euro to members after money was taken from members accounts without their knowledge and children accounts were tampered with.

It is also suspected that loan repayments were not debited from borrowings.

Gardaí say officers in Santry are investigating financial irregularities at a north Dublin credit union and their investigations are continuing.
