Gardaí investigate fatal road accident

Gardaí in Balbriggan are today investigating a single vehicle fatal collision on the Lusk to Skerries Road near the townland of Balcunnain this afternoon at around 3.30pm.

Gardaí in Balbriggan are today investigating a single vehicle fatal collision on the Lusk to Skerries Road near the townland of Balcunnain this afternoon at around 3.30pm.

A male in his 40s was fatally injured when the car his was driving left the road and collided with a wall.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Lusk to Skerries Road is currently closed pending completion of a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place via Rush.
