Gardaí investigate dead body found in Co Louth

A man's body has been found in Co Louth.

An investigation is underway after a man was found dead on a road in County Louth at around 3am this morning.

It is understood the man in his mid-50's - who is believed to have been working as a taxi driver - may have suffered a number of stab wounds.

The man was pronounced dead and his body remains at the scene which has been preserved for technical examination.

The Office's of the State Pathologist have been notified.
