Gardaí are investigating after partial human remains were found in Co. Kerry.

Officers said that on November 16 a human skull was discovered at a property in Templenoe.

Preliminary reports indicate that the skull is a historical item.

The coroner was notified and the skull is currently being examined by an anthropologist.

Garda inquiries are ongoing.
