Gardaí in hunt for two men following Dublin robbery

Gardai in Dublin are hunting two men who stole a cash box from a cash in transit van this morning.

A crew member was collecting the box from a premises in Blakestown shortly before 8am.

Two men who were armed with a bar and an imitation gun approached them and stole the box before escaping in a car.

Gardaí have recovered a car they believe was used in the robbery and it is now being technically examined.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the capital, North Circular Road is closed in both directions between the junctions of O'Deaveny Gardens and Infirmary Road as emergency services deal with a fire at a house.

The fire service is now at the scene of the blaze, which was discovered shortly before 9am this morning.

Gardaí say diversions are in place and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

There are no report of any injuries at this stage.
