Gardaí granted more time to question man about Regency Hotel shooting

Gardaí have been given a final extension to the time they can hold a man for questioning as part of the investigation into David Byrne’s murder.

The father-of-two was gunned down when an armed gang stormed a boxing weigh-in at the Regency Hotel in Dublin in February.

Last week, 24-year-old Patrick Hutch of Champions Avenue, Dublin 1 was charged with his murder.

Earlier today, gardaí were given another 48 hours to question a man in his 50s.

Once that has passed, he will have to be released or charged.

Two other men are also being detained.
