Gardaí confirm body found in West Cork is Dutch tourist

Gardaí have identified a body found off West Cork on Monday as that of one of two Dutch friends who went missing when walking on the Sheep's Head Peninsula last Saturday.

Gardaí are satisfied that the body found near Eskeraha on Monday is that of 33-year-old Dutchman, Othman Rahmouni from Amsterdam.

He was visiting West Cork with his friend, Roland Deckers, whose family have a holiday home in the area.

Confirmation of Mr Rahmouni's identity comes as officials assess the weather conditions in the area before deciding whether to search today for Mr Deckers.
